ANGLICAN CHURCH OF CANADA
Traditional Anglican Liturgy • Meaningful Sacramental Life
At St. Peter's, we gather weekly to worship God through the beautiful traditions of the Anglican Church. Our services combine ancient liturgy with heartfelt devotion, creating a worship experience that is both timeless and deeply meaningful.
Our primary Sunday service centers on the celebration of the Holy Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion or Mass). Drawing from the Book of Common Prayer and The Book of Alternative Services, our liturgy connects us to centuries of Anglican worship while remaining accessible and relevant.
Service includes:
Please contact the parish for current service times.
"Into Your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God." - Psalm 31:5
The season of preparation and celebration. We observe Advent with special services, light the Advent wreath, and celebrate the wonder of Christmas with beautiful services and nativity displays.
Experience the joy and mystery of Christ's birth through candlelight services, carols, and the retelling of the nativity story.
Journey with Christ through the 40 days of Lent, culminating in Holy Week services including Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil.
Celebrate the resurrection with joyful services throughout the 50 days of Easter, from Easter Sunday through Pentecost.
One of our most cherished traditions is the annual Blessing of the Animals, typically held near the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. We gather to give thanks for our animal companions and ask God's blessing upon all creatures great and small.
This special service reminds us that all of creation belongs to God and that we are called to be faithful stewards of the animals in our care. Families are invited to bring their pets (safely leashed or crated) for this joyful celebration!
The Anglican Church recognizes two sacraments ordained by Christ: Baptism and Holy Eucharist. We also celebrate other important rites and blessings that mark significant moments in life's journey.
"We welcome you into the Lord's family..."
Through baptism, we are initiated into the Christian family and marked as Christ's own forever. We baptize infants, children, and adults, providing preparation and support for candidates and their families.
To arrange a baptism: Please contact the parish to schedule a meeting with our clergy. Baptism preparation is provided.
For those who wish to publicly affirm their baptismal vows and be confirmed in the Anglican faith. Confirmation preparation is offered, and the bishop visits our parish to administer the sacrament.
"To have and to hold from this day forward..."
We consider it a privilege to celebrate the sacred union of marriage. Our clergy work with couples to create meaningful Anglican wedding ceremonies that honor their love and commitment before God.
To arrange a wedding: Contact the parish well in advance. Pre-marital preparation is required.
Prayer, anointing, and communion for those who are ill or facing surgery. Our clergy are available to visit the sick in hospitals, care facilities, or homes.
"I am the resurrection and the life..."
During times of grief, we offer compassionate funeral and memorial services that celebrate life, provide comfort, and proclaim the Christian hope of resurrection.
In a time of loss: Contact the parish immediately. Our clergy are available 24/7 for pastoral support.
The Anglican Church offers blessings for many occasions including new homes, church school classes, anniversaries, and other significant milestones.
Music has always been central to Anglican worship. From traditional hymns to contemporary Christian music, we use song and instrumental music to lift our hearts to God and enhance our worship experience.
The Anglican tradition includes Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, structured services of scripture, psalms, and prayers that can be prayed individually or corporately.
We maintain a prayer chain for urgent needs and offer ongoing prayer support. Prayer requests can be submitted confidentially.
Our clergy are available for spiritual guidance, pastoral conversations, and support on your faith journey.
Whether you're a lifelong Anglican or visiting for the first time, we welcome you to worship with us. Our services are both reverent and accessible, traditional yet warm and welcoming.
No experience with Anglican worship is necessary. We're happy to guide newcomers through the service, and books are provided.
